Mark Jarvis, managing director at WTiN, talks about the Innovate Textile & Apparel Online event, disruption within the industry and how it might look post-pandemic.
Jarvis has been the managing director at WTiN for more than 10 years now, having led the company through economic crises in the past. In this latest episode of The WTiN Podcast, he explains what it’s like to manage a company during hard times, how WTiN has responded to the situation and how a positive outlook is essential.
One way in which WTiN has creatively responded to Covid-19, Jarvis explains, is through the launch of the Innovate Textile & Apparel Online event. This will take place between 5 May and 30 June. Attendees can watch presentations from the comfort of their own homes and still have networking opportunities.
Elsewhere, Jarvis talks about when he first started to notice the impacts of the virus such as scheduled meetings becoming virtual ones and shows like INDEX20 and Drupa being postponed or cancelled. He further discusses disruption to supply chains and the slump in demand, while giving his insights on what a post-pandemic textile & apparel industry might look like.
