Date: Tuesday 8 October 2024
Duration: 47 minutes
Summary
Eco-friendly and sustainable textiles often use fewer or less harmful chemicals in their production, dyeing and finishing processes, subsequently reducing the pollution of air and water. The same goes for creating the fibres in fabrics. Some textile manufacturers will employ closed-loop systems for water and chemicals used in dyeing and finishing, and in textile-to-textile recycling. This panel will discuss the various options and approaches manufacturers can take when introducing these new systems.
Speakers: Dr. Trisha L. Andrew, Professor, University of Massachusetts Amherst, and Kim Scholze, Chief Sales Officer, Sympatex
