
Korean researchers have developed biodegradable nylon-like fibres using Escherichia coli (E. coli).
The team from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology produced eco-friendly fibres using microbes for sustainable materials. Publishing in the international academic journal ‘Nature Chemical Biology’ on 18 March, the researchers created biodegradable plastic fibres using E. coli.
