Empa is an interdisciplinary research institute of the ETH Domain for materials science and technology development. It conducts materials and technology research to develop customized solutions for its partners. The institute’s research priorities are structured in five Research Focus Areas (RFA) with the following topics: nanostructured materials, sustainable built environment, health and performance, natural resources and pollutants, and energy. The ''Empa Portal'' is the contact point for clients and partners who seek solutions to specific problems or who wish to undertake research projects in cooperation with Empa. Empa is headquartered in Dübendorf, Switzerland.
